Looking for good and affordable thai in Manhattan

Let me say, first off, that I asked some questions on this board a year or so back before I made a trip to NYC. Everyone here was helpful beyond belief.

In any event, I'll be staying in Secaucus, NJ for a wedding, but as I understand it, there's a quick shuttle into the city. My wife and I (and some friends) will be on our own for a Friday night, and we're looking for some good Thai. We're both addicted to spicy ethnic food. I assume that the shuttle will take us in or around the Midtown portion of Manhattan...but we're ready to catch a cab if we need to.

We're looking for some place authentic and affordable (not too upscale and pricey). We don't want it to be too nice, but also don't want it to be so much of a hole in the wall that it has no atmosphere. We're just looking for someplace with a laid back atmosphere where we can have a great Thai meal and knock back some Singha beers. Thanks in advance for the help.

Steve
