Golden Turtle Vietnamese in SF?

Carb Lover | Mar 20, 200505:56 PM     5

With the recent downhill reports of the Slanted Door, memories of a good meal at the Golden Turtle (Van Ness X Broadway; see link) have surfaced. This is a place that has been around since 1979, and my one and only meal there was well over 5 yrs. ago.

Not hip or sceny, but wonderful food reminded me of Imperial Vietnamese cuisine that has a strong Chinese influence and emphasis on presentation. Their online menu looks well varied, affordable, and seems to have stuck to tradition. Their version of "shaking beef" is called "look luck beef".

Has anyone been there recently? Thanks for any info.
