Golden Syrup

I saw, in the pecan pie thread below, a statement about how Golden Syrup is really great.

I also heard this from Nigella Lawson. I used it for something I made of hers, but now can't remember what.

Anybody have any reasons other than "It's soooo much better than corn syrup."?
