Golden Pheasant in Carson

Xericx | Dec 6, 200501:46 AM

Its a bit divey and non-descript, but I had a pretty good meal at Golden Pheasant (chinese food) in Carson the other day. Not in the most convienient or greatest part of town, but I was going to a lunch there. I didn't really order anything, so I don't know what everything was.

Honey Walnut shrimp- really good. Better than I had at Sam Woos. I love this dish. Crispy with a very creamy mayonaise type sauce...sweetened with honey.

Peking Duck- really good. Very nicely prepared. Good, crispy skin..they put the peking duck inside a steamed bun (the same type they use for siopao) and served with a hoison sauce. Never really get this dish all that often.

Schezchuan beef was good.

House special pan fried noodle was average.

Other dishes too. Overall, I was fairly impressed by the place...never knew it was even there...would have totally missed it.

Not something to go across town, but if you're hungry and in the area, its a pretty good fix.

1077 W Carson St, Torrance, 90502 - (310) 320-1038

Its west of the 110 freeway off the Carson exit on the right side of the road as you go westbound. yellow sign.
