Golden Eagle Inn -- Beaver Creek, CO

Wife and I had dinner last night at Golden Eagle Inn, one of our overall favorites in the Eagle River (aka Vail) Valley. The place was packed at 7 p.m. on Friday night and people were still coming in and the tables full at 9 p.m. Service was attentive and friendly. We started by sharing the house made Smoked Salmon over a fingerling potato and beet salad with a light sauce that was excellent. We had a Caesar Salad and a Mixed Baby Greens and Date Salad with pistachio-crusted goat cheese and tempura artichokes. Both were good. For main courses, my wife had the Sea Bass with Lobster "Dynamite" and I had the Flatiron Steak. Both were excellent -- the steak was really flavorful and cooked perfectly medium rare. Don Bird, the Owner/Host, and his staff do a great job of offering excellent food and service at prices that are more reasonable than many of the other places in this area.
