Have you ever eaten chinese food while overlooking the Strait of Magellan? I bet you haven`t. I did, and it was surprisingly good chinese food (For Chile) (which granted, doesn`t say much). 6 friends and I, about to head home after 4 days of camping at Parque Nacional Torres del Paine in Chilean Patagonia, decided to eat some chinese food (how many chances will you have to eat chinese food so far south?). Golden Dragon is in a beautiful house on a hill, overlooking the city center and the strait of magellan.....food was fine, had some flavor (already impressive for chile, no offense to anyone, I actually do like a lot of chilean food really....)...the best dish was actually stir fried vegetables served on a sizzling plate (i couldn`t resist sizzling) there was actually TOFU in it!! Who knew that Tofu existed in Punta Arenas? Otherwise the food was fine, but nothing really exciting to talk about, the real excitement was eating chinese food in southern Patagonia.
Now I am back in Santiago, will be heading out to Korean food very soon, THAT they do well here!
