I just had the best fried chicken of my life at Golden Bird on King and Vermont adjacent to USC. Then I scoured chowhound for any reference and found none. How could this gem not get more action on this venerable board?!
Gold is right - their chicken is incredible. Their batter is heavily. Their meat is wet-myself juicy.
And cheap! 12 of the biggest peices of chicken I've ever seen came in at less than $15. Fresh out of the fryer - it was still piping out when I got back to the Valley (I wouldn't recommend eating in -- kinda sketchy).
Why would anyone avoid this mecca of fried goodness??
