I visited Goffle Brook Farm in Hawthorne today. I managed to see some of the turkeys out back. They were just as white pale and crowded as any factory farm turkeys. I'm assuming all the fowl are raised in the back in the typical factory way.
So what the hell is the point? I mean, I get that fresh kill is MAYBE a LITTLE better, but if I'm going to be spending extra on meat, I might as well get actual free-range meat; there are probably plenty of farms around with chickens walking around pecking at stuff around the farm living a natural chicken lifestyle, and most importantly eating a natural chicken diet that includes bugs and fruits.
What's the point of the factory-farmed style chickens same as yu would get anyways in the supermarket?
