Goat milk...with chunks?

bluemoon4515 | Jun 19, 2010 05:36 PM

So I purchased a quart of goat milk at the farmer's market today. It is pasteurized but not homogenized. Tonight I went into the kitchen to drink some. I shook the bottle (even though it's not really necessary) and poured some out. When it poured I thought I saw something solid fall into the glass. I inspected the milk in the glass, and sure enough there were two or three small white chunks. I smelled the milk, and it smelled fresh. I strained out a white chunk with a fork and it smelled okay too. So, I sampled a tiny bit of the chunk, and it reminded me of clotted cream.

So, now I'm wondering what it really is? Has this happened to anyone else? Should I continue drinking the milk? I'm guessing there are going to be more chunks in there...I drank the rest of the glass with the chunks strained out and it was delicious...
