Just wanted to let any GFers know -- Arrizmendi has a few gluten-free goodies on offer, including carrot muffins, an almond flour-based macaroon-type cookie, and one other cookie I don't remember . . . Operaboy and I stopped by to inquire yesterday afternoon, not expecting anything, and it turned out that they have these three items. Totally happy to have some freshly-baked GF goodies on offer near our house.
Caveat emptor -- they call their GF options "wheat free," labeled WF in the bakery cases, and they cannot guarantee 100% gluten-free-ness since there's wheat flour flying around everywhere in a conventional bakery, but the recipes are GF. A friendly employee very graciously showed me their recipe binders, and the "WF" recipes use brown rice flour, almond flour, oat flour, and various gums and starches.
We bought two of the carrot muffins yesterday and split one for breakfast today, and they are delicious. Packed with plump golden raisins and walnuts, with just the right amount of spice.
