Went on Thursday evening to take advantage of their no corkage for the month of August.
We opted for sharing 6 appetizers. Service overall was good, not great. Empty plates were left a little too long. Waitress had difficulty cracking a smile. Noticed a couple of tables near us waiting a long time to place drink orders. The menu was a little different than what is posted on their website . The lobster that apparently (according to another posting debate) was out of season has been removed from the menu. Food overall was fantastic, would return in a heartbeat (this was our second time at Globe).
Soup of the Day (a red pepper gazpacho)....very tasty, interesting, it was strained/thin as opposed to chunky.
Scallop Ceviche...I'm no ceviche expert but it was nice & tangy, served in very thin slices, like a carpachio....smallish portion.
HeirloomTomato/Ontario Buffalo Mozarella salad....fantastic. so fresh and beautiful....huge portion (for an appetizer)
Pork Belly - the highlight....amazing flavours.
Speckled Trout - This was only dish that I wouldn't order again. It was good but there was nothing interesting or exciting about it.
Elk Carpaccio with a gorgonzola mousse....very rich in flavour. unique prep, excellent flavour.
We left extremely satiated without being overly full (a nice feeling!).
The above plus a bottle of sparkling water & a capuccino was about $97 (after tax, before tip).
