Need Help with Glaze for a Gingerbread Cake

In the midst of the Thanksgiving rush, I am making a house warming gift to drop at a friend's this evening. I made them a Gramercy Tavern Gingerbread cake, when I took it out of the bundt pan a thin top layer of the cake stuck in the pan. I need advice on a thick enough glaze to cover up my boo boo. I don't have time to go out to get ingredients to make another, and I hate to make my glaze because I don't think it will be thick enough to camouflage the ugly top. Do you have any advice?
