Please give your review of sources (online/bricks-n-mortar) for handmade steak knives?

I would really like to get my dh some special steak knives as a gift. (Shhh!) I'm interested in hand-forged, guaranteed-for-life, beautiful, unserrated knives with wooden handles - I'm leaning towards the kind of set with multiple different woods.

Unfortunately I can't find a single supplier in my area, and I hate the idea of buying them via the internet. And, I gotta say, I'm slightly shocked that I can't find them locally. I live in a major metropolitan area, and they seem to be absolutely nowhere around here.

So, my next best thing: has anyone had experience buying from these people? Do you consider them reputable? If you got engraving, how did it come out? Do you recommend (for or against) a particular brand or vendor? Are there any you can recommend that I haven't mentioned?

And ... if you know of anywhere within reasonable driving distance of Philadelphia, please don't hold back!

brands:
Forge de Laguiole
Goyon Chazeau (and of these, which do you recommend - Prestige or Le Thiers? Why?)

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
