Girl Scout Cookies in Brooklyn

Jim Leff | Mar 10, 200102:35 AM     6

It's that girlscout cookie time of year (somewhat easing our disappointment over the impending demise of douw myu season). The link below brings you to an order page, but I've heard you can find trooploads of cookie peddling scouts working outside the video store on Bedford and 9th in Williamsburg. If they're not around, the store's proprietor apparently has connections.

I'm not sure whether this is true, but supposedly there are two plants making cookies, and the one producing product for orders at link below is claimed to be the better one. This might explain the rather sorry cookies I've wound up with for the last couple of years. Wrong bakery. Just my luck.

Also, note that there are new flavors this year: Aloha Chips (rife with macadamias), chocolate/peanut butter Tagalongs ("two great cookies in one"), and the ever-popular Reduced Fat Apple Cinnamon for all you chubby brownies out there. Thin Mints and Trefoils are still extant.

ciao
