Three and a half ginger (Sunset Park Cuban)

zoefrombrooklyn | May 16, 200906:57 PM     8

Has anyone else tried this month-old place on 5th Ave between 41st and 42nd? We had a simple meal there tonight--rice and beans, grilled chicken, tostones, salad and a strawberry shake--and it was all way better than we dared to hope. The chicken was wonderfully charred and well cooked, the beans were really savory and good, the white rice was exceptional (rich, flavor, great texture) and the tostones had that perfect crisp crunch. We were the only ones there on a Saturday night, other than the owner's small children, so we weren't holding our breath, but will definitely be going back.
