I recently read a review of a popular Italian restaurant in NYC, and in the review the person had a gift card for $250. He gave the server the gift card when the bill came, at which point the server told the customer that they cannot accept the card due to management change. The manager also backed it up, and refused to take the card.
My question is, is this the customers fault for not alerting the server to the gift card at the start of the meal? I have never told a server about a gift card until the end of my meal.
Curious what others think about this situation.
