I haven't actually been in to this place yet, but my coworkers have been so excited to have an Indian/Pakistani place a stone's throw from our building that for the second day in a row they have been kind enough to bring me takeout. I haven't been to the Devon Avenue loaction, but it's the same guys.

The menu is limited. Within the limited menu, the quality varies greatly. This is my experience so far:

Dal - a little crunchy for my taste (just a preference), but good flavor and moderately spicy, even without having asked. Seems to be cooked with a fair amount of tomato and spices. $2.00

Vegetable Korma - the menu says the sauce is creamy, but it's not. I suspect they accidently gave us a different dish, possibly Sabzi. I'm not familiar with Sabzi, but in reading the description it sounds more like what we had ("Fresh marinated vegetables cooked with herbs and spices"). In any case, the vegetables were strongly marinated, giving the dish a kind of vinegary flavor, not to my taste but not awful either. $2.00

Lamb Curry - Excellent flavor in the sauce, not at all spicy despite my specific request. The meat was mostly bone. Needed to be re-heated. $3.00

Meat Thali - included Lamb Curry. Also included two other dishes of indeterminate but tasty identity. Lots of spices, nicely cooked meat (one possibly was what they use in their "Hunter Lamb" sandwich - minced lamb with spices). Comes with rice and bread, and though it says raita we didn't get it. $4.50

Samosa, vegetable (meat also available) - er, not very good. Hastily assembled, seems like they use some kind of egg roll wrappers or something similar. Triangular and flat. Tasted greasy. $.50/ea

Nan - good, large, floppy, fluffy nan. $.75/ea. The first time it was wrapped in foil, the second time it was just thrown in the bag.

Chicken Biryani - don't. This is not Biryani. It's saffron rice with a chicken leg in it. They should remove it from the menu. $3.00

I dunno. Because of the prices and proximity I may order from here now and again, but overall I think it's worth the extra minutes to hop over to Devon. I can't speak to the appearance of the place, though I understand it's fairly small and primarily takeout (I think it used to be a hot dog stand). Anyone else have experience with this or the Devon location?
