German Sausages, again - Weißwust in Particular...

Hi All - I was gone over New Year's, so didn't jump in on the discussion then, but... after reading my latest issue of Chownews, reminded me of a burning question:

Has anyone ever found authentic Münchener Weißwurst in SoCal? OC would be really really great. Whenever I ask at Globe deli or Old World, they point me to the cooked bratwurst, which is not what I want. What is want is made fresh daily with veal & mild spices, then boiled for a few minutes & served on a roll with sweet mustard for breakfast or an early lunch. You delicately pop them out of their casings & into your mouth. Yummmm!!!

I have seen these in cans once in awhile, which is better than nothing, but would be thrilled to find the real fresh stuff sometime somewhere.

While we're at it, I'd love some fresh hot roasted chestnuts, too (old bent over lady with black knarled hands & major gray chin hairs optional).
