Georgie's Chow House - Rowlett (DFW)

A new Diner has opened called Georgie's Chow House in Rowlett on Hwy 66 just west of Dalrock road. It is in the corner of a strip center next to the UPS store. I had heard of this place from several locals and wanted to try it out. Greeks run it and dem Greeks can cook.

I was there for the $2.99 breakfast special, which includes a large serving of scrambled eggs, 2 big sausage patties, biscuits and gravy and grits. It was great. Other options on the special include pancakes I saw them on another table they were large. I don’t see how anyone could eat it all.

I wish I had kept the take home menu it is impressive.

The menu for the breakfast includes Migas, Omelets, and other standard fare.

The lunch menu includes a Daily Blue plate special with at least 10 other plates including Stuffed Bell Peppers, CFS, Liver and Onions, Burgers, special Salad's including a Greek salad. All prices or about $6.50. Remembering the blue plate specials Lasagna (mom’s recipe), CFS, Spaghetti and meatballs, and Sunday’s Chicken and Dumplings.

Then it’s on to The Dinner Menu the prices are $10.00 which included fish, chicken and beef plates.

The décor is texican with photos of western movie stars and such on the walls and there is a toy train that circles the top of the dinning area.

I was there on a Wednesday morning and half of the 20 tables were used. But judging by the number of tickets that were next the cash register there had been a morning rush.

I can’t wait to go back for the lunch and dinner review.
