Genius pizza-maker at Arinell's (SF)

chowhoundX | Feb 15, 200409:02 PM

On a trip to Arinell's (Valencia, near 16th) last week, the first sign that something was different was the shape fo the pizza. The pie was kind of oblong, so when the slices were cut they made irregular triangles, not isosceles ones. Then I noticed the crust, so thin. And the sauce and cheese were just right. I've been to Arinell's before and thought it was ok, but this was really special.

When I asked the guy at the counter, he pointed back at this guy (maybe early 20s?) and said he is a "pizza making genius." I'm not sure if my previous visits to Arinell's were unusual or this one was. Anyway, I recommend going if the genius is there.
