gelson's birds

Read a post down the list here about "to-go" turkeys, and someone posted that they'd gotten a bum bird from Gelson's.

About 8 years ago my family did the same thing, but found the "precooked" turkey to actually be quite good. This saved us a lot of cooking time and it allowed the family to sit around and spend some good quality time together... instead of having my mother stress in the kitchen over the gravy, stuffing, etc. (Mom is a perfectionist, for better or worse.)

Anyway, we were thinking of doing that again this year and wondered if there were any other folks who had similar stories - either positive or negative - regarding Gelson's precooked turkeys. I find it hard to believe that the excellent turkey I received 8 years ago is no longer possible. Also would take other suggestions for "to-go" birds (i.e., Wild Oats, stc.)
