Best thing I put in my mouth in my Fall 2019 visit to Palm Springs was Gelato Granucci's Lemon meringue cookie + Pistachio gelato single, $5.25. Intensely fruity/floral lemon woven with biscuity flavors; the pistachio was even better. I confirmed that made with Italian pistachios, accounting for the complex depth of flavor. Dense, velvety, elastic texture, some of the best I've had stateside.

Gelato Granucci opened in January 2019 and has a long gelato-making family history in Italy. Wish I'd been feeling better to return for some of the other specialties in the case, such as ice cream sandwiches and gelato-filled cannoli.
