gave Oliveto another try

goingoutagain | May 18, 200401:33 AM     11

It's been about five years since my only visit to Oliveto. A friend and her boyfriend were in town, staying in the east bay, so I chose this as a special-occasion restaurant. Once again disappointed. Although the restaurant was not 100% full, it was close, and the din was deafening. Okay for a less-expensive place, but not at these prices. We had a great waitress and excellent service. I liked the antipasto and the spit-roasted pork; my companions were less enthusiastic about the ribeye and the tuna. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable.
