The "Gastro" thing...

Seems like every other new restaurant popping up is a rehash of the same gastropub model over and over again.

I think we have enough, they're all fine, but basically the same. Do we really need more?

Symptoms include:

small plates
grilled octopus
crispy brussels sprouts w/ bacon
truffle oil on everything
minced garlic on everything
chicken n' waffles and "adult" mac n' cheese
6 different IPAs on tap, all hoppier than the last
poured concrete floor, exposed AC ducting, Edison bulbs

It's fine, just getting a little trend-desperate and boring at this point. Would like to see some fresh takes as new places come around.
