Over past 5-6 years this has happened TWICE... "something" has chewed thru the gas line on grill out on my deck?!? Have never actually seen a critter near grill but deck is only one step off the ground and grill one more step up. First to be blamed would be groundhog with squirrels as a close second. Could be one of the numerous rabbits or chipmunks, too. Grill was NOT all gunked up with food bits that might make the hose a bit tastier.
Neither grill was remotely "high end"... around $100 at end of season. I'm usuallt cooking for one and money IS an "object". When first one was trashed, the "universal" replacement part wouldn't fit... BUT I could have special ordered a part for over $50... grill only cost $100 when new. Grill that was most recently vandalized... same thing... could order replacement part for $69.99?!?
Gonna go old-school charcoal for a while. BUT I do like gas for it's convenience and quickness. When I do get another gas grill, it'll be a budget purchase... probably late in summer. Any suggestions to deter gnawing when I do get a new one??
