Garlic Flowers/Spears?

I saw these in a tonier grocery yesterday and cooked some tonight...

Wow, these were really good, understeamed then sauteed. Taste and texture wise, they're like a cross between asparagus and artichoke--the garlic flavor is subtle.

Anyone else like these? Favorite preps?
