Something I've noticed over the last year or two has been a shift in the cloves in heads of garlic I buy. Traditionally the heads of garlic I'd get would have decent sized cloves, now they tend to be pods of tiny cloves. From the outside, they look about the same.
Is there a reason for this shift?
At the end of the day it's the same amount of garlic, but peeling the tiny pods is a real PITA
