Garibaldy’s taco truck, Santa Rosa

Melanie Wong | May 2, 200411:29 PM

Stopped by this relative newcomer to the neighborhood recently for a late night snack. The smallish soft tacos with a choice of meats are a buck apiece. The tortillas are the same high quality, heavily limed and thickish ones used by the other trucks along Sebastopol Road. The tortillas are griddled with a little oil, then topped with the chopped meat, cilantro, freshly minced white onion, and an orange-colored, slightly bitter chili sauce. On the side of the plate are sautéed strips of onion and a pile of sautéed fresh jalapeño chilis for accompaniments. The carne asada is griddled to order. The carnitas are a bit dry, but worthwhile.

Parked in the Shell Station on Dutton Road between Hwy 12 and Sebastopol Road.
