we used to go to gargoyles frequently but then the menu became less interesting and we discovered evoo and became evoo converts. we still are dedicated evoo fans . Now Gargoyles has a new exec.chef, one of our favs from his years at tremont 647,JASON SANTOS.local boy from melrose. he of 29 years and blue hair. he is openly enthusiastic in his new spot and he just got 2 1/2 stars from allison and we visited him and had wonderful dinner the other night.
apps of:kobe beef potstickers with miso glaze and topped with tobiko( yes, it did work wonderfully!); tuna tataki with lovely dressing, ample portion for the price; grilled kobe hangar steak with complex spice rub and very succulent; duck with rice in banana leaf. handsome comfy rear dining room. knowledgable and helpful servers. hoorah for jason! now for us, gargoyles is back on the map.
