Went to the Gardner Museum the other day and decided to try the cafe there. What a surprise!! I expected the usual institutional garbage - not at all. The food was carefully prepared, not anything you haven't seen before, but really done nicely. The waitstaff also was knowledgeable and eager to please. I plan on making this my own secret treat. It was a little cramped, but helped give it a 'hidden away' feel. My server told me that the cafe is run independently from the Museum. Does anyone know if the chef works somewhere else? Is this one of those foodservice contract deals? A strong recommendation from a critical Hound.
