I read about the good burgers at Gaffney's in Arlington from this board and decided to give it a try. Sure enough, they were really good and we have been back a couple of times. Each time, once a Sunday night, once a Friday night, once Saturday around 6pm, the place was not very crowded. Meanwhile, across the courtyard, the Rio Grande was packed. I felt bad for them because their food was pretty good. My husband vouches for their seafood soups.
Anyway, I hope some of you will give them a try. I'd hate to see a decent bar restaurant go out of business. There are so many great Asian restaurants but not that many good "American" restaurants. I think they are better than the Four Provinces (either location), Rockbottom, and that microbrewery in Shirlington (forgot its name).
