Restaurant Depot stores open to general public for first time ever in 40 years. A food service supplier temporarily has opened its New Jersey store locations to the public for the first time ever in order to help shoppers secure grocery essentials during the COVID-19 public health crisis.

If you have ever been curious as to what you can be purchased wholesale and in bulk, now is your chance to gain access to see if something fits your plate. In general, unless you have a family of 4+, it's probably overkill for most, but you can certainly make some outstanding purchases, especially if you are willing to portion out and freeze your meat purchases.

My recommendations for a family are the following: a little more expensive than a typical Costco price

* Bread Products
* Hot Dog/Hamburger Rolls
* Hot Dogs
* Tortillas
* Naan / Pita
* Navel Pastrami
* Bulk Snacks
* Bulk Candy
* Roasted Peanuts
* Peanut Butter
* Spices
* Dairy : Milk, Butter, Cheese
* Pork Picnic Shoulders
* Pork Butts
* Spare Rib
* Baby Back Ribs
* Red Meat Value Cuts
* Brisket
* Boneless Short Ribs
* Flat Iron Steak
* Hanger Steak
* Lamb
* 10 Pound Bags of Chicken Cutlets - All other chicken is 40 pounds
* Frozen Squid
* Frozen Shrimp or Fresh, if available in 3# minimum purchase
* Prince Edward Island Mussels
* Lump Crabmeat
* Paper and Cleaning Supplies

Just a suggestion about buying in bulk with something you may think is too much and not worth considering, e.g., BREAD. I typically do not purchase packaged bread products due to diet restrictions but when I need a Rye Bread, like recently for Corned Beef or Brisket Sandwiches for St. Paddy's Day festivities... a purchase for rye bread at the supermarket for a one pound loaf is typically $3-5. At the Restaurant Depot you can purchase a 3-4 pound loaf from a commercial bakery for the same $3-5. If you can't finish it, feed the wildlife.
