We went for our office Xmas lunch to Fusion and had a very mixed experience. We were very surprised to be told that they do not do appetizers at lunch. This was certainly a shock to us as we planned to have a nice leisurely lunch. When pushed, they said the chef might be able to do something. We did manage to split some salad mains into appetizers for our small group, and the kitchen did come up with some soup. The next surprise was when we asked for bread to go with the soup and salads and were told that "we do not do bread at lunch"...another shock. Now to give our waiter a lot of credit....he went off and said he would see what he could do. Well he did a fine job, as somehow he managed to organize a small basket of rolls. We were certainly glad that they did do wine and desserts at lunch!!! We found the anticipated lunch to be a challenge...for them and for us.....and at one point decided that perhaps at lunch the restaurant should be named Confuzion. Another small point is that the wine list offered a 90 point Robert Parker wine, but what they actually served was not that wine (ie a different vintage). Restaurants should be more careful about what they offer, and what they deliver.
It seemed to us that if you want to be a restaurant then you serve appetizers and you serve bread. This restaurant certainly seems confuzed at lunchtime. Credit to our accommodating server though as he tried very hard to make sure we had a good time. Thanks for that.
