funnel cake is over-rated!

Wendy Lai | Jun 27, 200202:57 PM

Spent a whole day at Great America yesterday. Lots of fun, though in my old age, I think I have whiplash now!

At a friend's recommendation, who said we ABSOLUTELY must try funnel cake, we bought a funnel cake at $4.49. I also saw Food-TV's Unwrapped talk about funnel cake, so I thought it was something I definitely need to try. I wish I hadn't bothered. What a waste of money. Basically fried dough dusted with cinnamon sugar, sort of churro-like, but denser and more doughy. It was note made-to-order, the death blow to any fried food.

I guess I shouldn't have expected too much from amusement park eats, but their consession stands horrible. I think I must had the most terrible slice pizza in my whole entire life. One slice of pepperoni made my stingy slice a "pepperoni" pizza. Bland sauce, bland crust, at $2.99 a slice, blah.

A none-food side note: The Stealth - flying coaster - was awsome! Upside down, face the ground kind of terrifying coaster ride.
