Heading to the city for a weekend in December to celebrate a 30th birthday. We have a Friday night reservation at EMP and are looking for an ideal compliment for dinner on Saturday. There will be four of us and we're looking for something that would be a bit more high energy/fun without sacrificing food quality. As a reference point my ideal world would be something like Schwa in Chicago; obviously a pretty unique spot, but hopefully that gives some decent direction.
Cost isn't a huge concern and we don't mind doing another tasting menu or heading outside of Manhattan. Right now I'm looking at places like Aska/Momofuku Ko all the way to Olmstead/Lilia. Any validation on those or other recommendations for an especially fun and amazing meal are appreciated.
