Last night my husband & I finally got to go to a place just outside of Redding in Palo Cedro. It is less than 10 minutes east on the 44. The name of the place is Palo Cedro Inn. It was a step back in time for us. It opened it's doors about 30 years ago and I do not think much has changed since then. You must be 21 to enter. You can sit at the bar or at the booths. The waitress came up to us and asked what we wanted and we were confused since there was no written menu. She said we can have rib eye, filet mignon or chicken. Then I think our puzzled looks finally gave it away that we had never been there before, so she educated us on their ways. We choose the meat then she brings a salad (very nice by the way) to the table with three different dressings then she puts out meat and bread by the grill at the end of the room and we cook it ourselves! It also came with a baked potato. It was a really good experience! It was also fun to watch my husband cook and season to his hearts delight! The steaks were very good and it was an experience that we will look forward to repeating.
