About to make an inaugural batch of Arepas, following the relatively simple recipe on the ArepArina package, but it doesn't say what to fry them in. I'm sure the answer is probably lard, but I don't really do lard, so does anyone know what works best? Butter? A combo of Butter and oil. (my staple frying method is a combo of Butter and canola- butter for flavor, canola for heat). Corn Oil to complement the corn flour?
Also, any other tips for this arepa virgin would be much appreciated.
