So I've been lax--didn't make that brandy-soaked fruitcake in September like I had promised myself I would.
But the prospect of going without a really good fruitcake over Christmas is unbearable. Can anyone tell me where I can get a rich, dark, nut-dense, liquor-soaked (or soakable) cake? The sort you DON'T give away, and the presence of which on the buffet you do not advertise to relations incapable of appreciating the finer points of this joyous cake? (Let them eat tiramisu!)
