Fruit Tarts at "Citarella" in the Village

Jon36 | Jun 20, 200511:39 PM

The recent thread inspired me to try Citarella's fruit tarts and I was quite pleased with them. The pastry crust is light and delicate, the custard is just enough and not too sweet, and the fruit is fresh and not covered in any gelatinous coating as is sometimes the case. I got both the mixed fruit and the mixed berries and they were very good. A little pricey at $4.99 each but the lightness and freshness won me over. I also bought a chocolate mousse pastry, so I am one happy camper at the moment!
