Does anyone know where to buy frozen rhubarb?
Frozen rhubarb ? It is growing out of the ground, everywhere, right now, in Ontario. 'Tis the season...
Why not go for fresh ?
Agreed. The East York Farmer's Market started today and most of what the vendor's had was rhubarb and asparagus. Got a few fiddle heads as well but there weren't many!
I'm with the OP. Frozen rhubarb used to be available year round at a reasonable price. There's no advantage to fresh since no one eats rhubarb raw (though I guess I did as a kid, with a small bowl of sugar to dip the stalk in, but I'd never do that now). A big bag of frozen, chopped rhubarb used to cost about three dollars. Now a couple of stalks will set you back that much. And you have to chop it yourself. And throw away the poisonous leaves. This is progress?
MacMillian's in Ajax has it on their product list. I haven't been there inperson to verify it's in stock.
