I am an admitted pizza addict...and make some pretty good pizzas on my own as well as have visited some of the best pizza places locally (SoCal) and around the country. That being said, sometimes for convenience sake a frozen pizza is "what's for dinner".
The problem is that there are a lot of really bad frozen pizzas out there. So...what are the good ones? Everyone has their own favorite topping, so I'm talking abot the pizza itself...crust, sauce, cheese. I'm partial to italian sausage so I look for the best cheese pizzas and add the sausage before popping them in the oven.
Over the last year, i've got to say I've developed a clear winner in my mind, and that's the Freschetta Brick Oven brand (5 Italian Cheese). Light crispy crust, flavorful fresh tasting sauce and just the right amount of cheese. It's square in shape but that doesn't make it any better or worse in my book...if anything beeter because you get more "area" than a round one. Heck, I'm a Chicago "square-cut" guy anyways.
Let me know what you think of this brand and also others you like. If they are available locally, I'll try just about all of them once!
