I froze my (uncooked) split peas... Is that bad?

Normandie | Nov 16, 2009 07:00 PM

I keep my legumes them in a dark, out-of-the-way pantry cupboard, but I keep rice in the freezer. I must have been distracted after I made split pea soup the other day, because tonight I discovered the unused portion of the dried split peas in the freezer.

Have I ruined them?

If not, is it better now to keep them in the freezer, rather than moving them back to the pantry?
