Hello! I am looking for the perfect white/vanilla frosting recipe, and I'm not sure it exists.
I love the taste and consistency of the "cooked flour" frosting, and I'd happily use it for everything, but I also need something good for piping.
I'm making my daughter's bday cake and the entire bottom layer is all piped design. I need a frosting recipe that:
Can be left out for a day (maybe two?)-- covered but not refrigerated
I sort of hate typical American buttercreams because I find the confectioner's sugar to be way too overly sweet and they always seem to leave that chemical aftertaste. I'd rather not use shortening.
Is my miracle frosting out there? Or am I asking too much?
