Ate at these three hound recs..

The Friendly Toast--had a fabulous breakfast there Fri wait--and I was glad we chose to try it Fri as the waitress said Sat am waits range from 45min to 1.5 hrs!
My son tried the King Pancakes--(side of bacon) with bananas, choc chips, and peanut butter spread between, topped with whipped cream...He needed the calories to row the Charles..and loved them. I had the Eggs Benny--juice and a pot of Earl Grey which was great and the side of potatos...VERY YUMMY!

Had a fabulous meal at Green Street on Friday evening...
We shared the grilled octopus for an app. and the vodka martini was great.
My son had the hangar steak which was excellent, as was my pan roasted duck over roasted kale. (The chef traded the spaghetti squash for kale by request)
My son's apple tart was excellent, and the better choice, the ricotta fritters were ok--yes very light and not at all greasy and yes drizzled with a semi-sweet chocolate hazelnut sauce....but of the two desserts, the tart was better only because I had hoped for more presence of the ricotta. Service was excellent and we will definitely eat there again when back in the Boston-Cambridge area.

Miracle of Science--
We had a great breakfast Sat am...Fun, simple place--and the design your own omlett plate is terrific. The side potatos are fabulous...and fresh juice is a welcome refreshing option. We arrived after 9am and the place was just starting to fill, so we had no wait.

Three great recs within walking of LeMeridien and all will definitely stay on our list for the next visit.
