I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong... looking to make fried food at home that doesn't suck and it never works out. Mostly chicken.
Now there is no specialized equipment here, and I'm really trying to not make a mess. So, I've tried wet batters, single, double dipping, and last night, just seasoned flour and some breadcrumbs on very dry legs. I've tried lots of oil and minimal oil. Too high, too low, and spot on, 350 temperatures. I just cannot get crispy fried chicken. I understand this is a personal failing, and makes me less of a man. I get that. But what is everyone elso since the dawn of time doing that im not? I'm starting to think my apartment has humidity issues.
