Has anyone been there recently and, if so, what was your take on it? Went last night for our Valentine's dinner... for sentimental reasons. A bit of a disappointment. While their $10 a bottle markup on wine is very generous, the wine glasses are tiny. This makes it especially hard to enjoy a nice red wine. Also the food was only so so. I must say, however, a langoustine bisque soup we had was very good ($13). That was the highlight of the meal. We both had a very bland salmon entree ($23). It was supposed to have oysters in it but neither of us could detect any. Portions were huge, as were the dessert portions. Nothing to write home about though. We sat upstairs, in the room next to the tank bar. I remember it as being very romantic, and once they turned off the rock music and switched to Nancy Wilson it wasn't bad. Not as I remembered it though. Truth be told, this was a favorite many years ago and maybe we weren't as discerning about food back then. Is this a case of you can't go home again or am I being too picky (or both)? I think this place is way past its prime.
