Been a while since my last visit to the Saturday farmers market in Oldtown Salinas. Recently I headed over there to pick up some fresh veggies for the weekend and noticed El Taquero's set up for slicing potatoes on the mandoline and frying on-site at the Oldtown Salinas farmers market.

How could I resist? Beautiful golden-brown, crackly, and freshly-fried, these warm potato chips are as good as it gets. A salt shaker and choice of hot sauces (I favor Tapatio on my chips) were available to season to taste.

The potato chips are $3 per bag or 2/$5.
