Using up fresh live mussels

I just brought home a bag of lovely live mussels -- black mussels from Maine coast. Turns out I have way too many.

Any suggestions on preparing live mussels to be used the next day. I don't have crushed ice to keep them live and fresh. Is there an easy way to cook them so they'll be tasty tomorrow? Maybe in a tomato sauce?
