fresh green channa?

Just got back from Patel Bros (Indian grocery store) and was intrigued by the fresh green channa (chickpeas) in the produce section.

I bought about a pound of them but not sure what to do with them. The lady next to me says to just soak them for a couple of hours and use in any channa recipe, but i feel there must be something else.

anyone have any suggestions?
