Fresh fish - good quality w/o breaking my bank?

tokyoastrogirl | Sep 20, 200406:00 PM

After spending $20 on ONE salmon fillet (less than one pound) at Bristol Farm this past weekend, I realized that I need to find another source for fresh fish. I will be the first to sing the praises of Bristol Farm's quality- I could live on their Opah and pretty much love everything they carry in their seafood case. Only problem is,it's just TOO expensive. I am not one who minds throwing down for good stuff, but it is really just beyond my normal reach. Are there any fish markets or good fish departments in grocery stores that have a good variety at a semi-reasonable price? My Vons doesn't even have a fish monger and honestly, the fish smells pretty fishy everytime I buy something. I live in Highland Park/South Pas area and work in Hollywood. Thanks!
